The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions for the community.

SASSA might be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed with regard to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some superior variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office devoted to service the area on a regular basis. The click here service position created for intervention encounters a superior influx of probable beneficiaries, that makes it challenging website with the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to permit the servicing of all prospects and improve use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
